Birch Run varsity boys gave it all they had at Frankenmuth, but took a 39-52 loss Tuesday.  Frankenmuth led at the end of the 1st quarter 12-7, but Birch Run closed the gap a little by halftime 22-25. Both teams scored 9 points in the 3rd quarter making it 34-32in favor of the Eagles.

With 5:30 to go in the fourth, Frankenmuth held a 2 point advantage (38-36), and with 1:29 left in the game it was 46-39 before the Panthers had to foul putting the Eagles on the free-throw line. It is nice to see Birch Run Panthers being very competitive with quality basketball programs, and would have been great to pull out the win, but I think going into overtime on Monday (the night before) affected our play near the end of the game. Wyatt Stevens was leading scorer with 9 points, followed by Jaxon Martinus who had 8 points, he also led the team with 7 assists. Gage Martiuns pulled down 4 rebounds, and Keegan Hale had 2 steals and took a charge.
