The BR Varsity Boys played hard, but lost to John Glenn Friday 35-58. The Panthers battled hard and out-hustled the Bobcats, but couldn't overcome a poor shooting night and John Glenn's size advantage on the inside game. At half-time we were down 7 points (15-22), and at the end of the 3rd, down by 11 (40-29). We were in it through much of the game, and I like the intensity on defense the team is playing with right now. Some times the final score doesn't reflect how close the game was. Jaxon Martinus led the Panther scoring with 15 points; he also had 4 steals. Gage Martinus had a team-high 6 rebounds. Birch Run boys will travel to Byron on Tuesday for a 7 pm game.
