Birch Run Boys pulled out a close victory 55-52 over visiting Montrose Tuesday.The Panthers started the game hitting on all cylinders on their way to a 17- 9 first quarter lead, and expanded it to a 17 point edge (33-16) by halftime. Montrose started out the second half on a 5 - 0 run and out-scored Birch Run in the 3rd quarter by a 25 to 10 margin. Our shots didn't fall for us as well as they had in the first half, and Birch Run clung to a slim 43-41 advantage over the Rams going into the fourth. It was a battle in the 4th quarter as the score went back and forth before Birch Run's Jaxon Martinus made some clutch free throws in the final minutes to seal the win for the Panthers.

Jaxon Martinus led the Panthers with 31 points and 6 steals, while Trent Dalak grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds. Connor Mausolf, Jaxon, and Garett Martinus each had 3 assists. We host John Glenn @ 7:00 pm on Friday.
