Birch Run Varsity boys played hard against host Freeland Friday, but came out on the losing end 77-48. Though the score was lopsided, the game was closer than the score indicates. We were only down by 10 points (40-30) midway through the third quarter; had it not been for the Falcon's 12 made three-pointers (sunk by 5 different players) the outcome could have been different. I am proud of how hard the Panthers battled, and the team's determination no matter what the score is. We have a ways to go, but the guys are learning a new system and improving each game. Jaxon Martinus scored a career-high 32 points, Gage Martinus led the team in rebounds with 5. Our next contest is home against Bay City Central on Thursday Dec 22nd.
